The European Commission proposes to extend the Action Plan Ukraine EU for a year
The European Commission intents to prolong the Action Plan Ukraine EU, which should be completed in 2008, to 2009, informed the Head of the Delegation of the European Commission, Ian Boag during a meeting with the Minister of Justice of Ukraine, Oleksandr Lavrynovych. He emphasized that he sees an expanded opportunity with this approach and is convinced that it will assist in utilizing every possibilities to draw Ukraine closer to the EU.During the meeting, the participants included the Director of the EuropAID program of the European Commission, Marcus Tornado and discussed the completion of the Action Plan related to justice, sovereignty and security. The representatives of the European Commission were particularly interested in issues regarding reorganization of the judicial system, combating corruption and the independence of the court justices, etc.
