The Art of Strategy in Ukraine
On June 3rd, a press-conference was held with the theme: "The Art of Strategy in Ukraine…" at the press-centre of the News agency, LigaBusinessInform (Kyiv, 23 Shamrylo Street).One of the reasons why Ukraine has not attained a leading position in the International competition on strategic management called the "Global Management Challenge" (GMC) is due to lack of support from the state. In the meantime, strategic games teach Ukrainian managers to make factually based decisions and develop situational models for the next several years. These opinions were expressed by the participants of the press-conference.
Director of "GMC Ukraine", Ann Degtereva began the conference with a number of questions, which she posed to the experts: "What prevents us from being the best and the most competitive, and what prevents Ukraine from achieving successes in the international arena? We did not place first in the International finale on strategic management (GMC- publication). We were even passed by China, why are they better than we are?".
According to HR director of "Ukreksimbank" Tatiana Didych, the project "Global Management Challenge" is supported in all countries, first of all, by the state, which in turns ensures that there are numerous teams who compete to win. "They are accompanied in the competitions by a minister of the economy, minister of finance... In our case, I am not sure that the ministers are aware of this project, we take part in this world cup and we are today in the TOP Ten", - underlined T. Didych.
"The Global Management Challenge project" is beneficial because «it develops a new generation of middle managers, teaching them to think outside the box without limitations. In fact, these managers win in the real business world!», - Helen Volska, Managing partner and director of EBS, stated.
